Armin Elsaesser

I am currently based in Bristol working as a freelance sound designer and music composer for the computer games developer FluffyLogic. In May 2010 I was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Video Game Score for my work on Savage Moon: Waldgeist, in the first year that a new category has been created for computer game music.

I am a DJ / producer of Jungle and Breakcore music under the name Parasite.  I manage a record label called Death$ucker Records, and the online record shop DSWAT. I used to promote the Toxic Dancehall and Goatlab club nights in Bristol and produce and host a monthly podcast called Goatlab Radio.

I am also a graphic designer /web developer and maintain and host a number of websites.

Have a look at my CV.

Here is what others have been saying:

It’s hard to believe that the royal ruckus known as Parasite is actually breakcore’s hardest-working bloke. The affable bloodsucker (Armin Elsaesser to his mom) is best known for helming the consistently great Death$ucker label, which boasts the scene’s best and most eclectic roster (with releases from Bong-Ra, Knifehandchop, Monkey Steak, D’kat, and DJ Ripley). He’s also the head honcho of DSWAT distro, one of the most active online mailorder stores, and a driving force behind the Toxic Dancehall parties in his hometown of Bristol, England. A testament to breakcore’s increasing popularity, these raucous affairs grew from 30 people in the basement of an Indian restaurant to crowds over a thousand strong at the Black Swan in just three years.

Armin Elsaesser, a.k.a Parasite, is the owner of the Death$ucker label and the fantastic online electronic music shop DSWAT.net (that ‘s Digital Special Weapons and Tactics or Digital Sounds Warped and Twisted, depending on his mood I guess). As Parasite he makes some brilliantly twisted ragga jungle that manages to sound extremely dark and yet incredibly funky at the same time. Check out his releases on Peace Off and Damage as well as what Death$ucker back catalogue you can get your hands on. Originally introduced to Gusset by a mutual friend he took a chance on us and let us come along and play at the Venetian Snares gig he was putting on. We have since played at gigs for each other on several occasions and he was even nice enough to put one of our tracks on the Death$ucker compilation album Ballroom Blitz and distribute our CD-R releases through DSWAT.net!
